ARTIST - CARLISLE BURCH
Introducing Carlise Burch – the artist behind the “View Of Camelback” collaboration launching on December 7th. "Carlisle Burch’s approach to illustrating intentionally explores the dichotomy that defined much of her childhood. Characters and scenes evolve from the juxtaposition of her Mojave Desert home and a fascination with French post-impressionism as well as fashion illustration of the early 1900’s. Her use of color and line creates a world where leathered cowboys, rattlesnakes, and sandstorms merge with the idealistic and refined. Carlisle’s illustrations are equally light-hearted while transporting us into her world of weathered nostalgia." Launch Event: Cave & Post Trading Co509 W McDowell Rd., Suite 102 Phoenix, AZ 85003December 7th from 5pm-8pm EVENT DETAILS + RSVP

MAIL.BOX.ART No.14
MAIL.BOX.ART No.14 - MAÑANA REPUBLIC Introducing the latest artist in the MAIL.BOX.ART Series - Mañana Republic the multidisciplinary art studio of Dero Jensen. Dero (b.1989) is a self-taught artist exploring the playful balance of optimism and curiosity intertwined between natural ecosystems and a man made world that is inherently less so. Inspired by tropic and sub tropic latitudes and the cultures who have endured the transition to a modern industrial society, Dero creates a version of folk art not dissimilar from himself, riddled with ironic idealism of leisure and whimsical escape. Explore more online at Manana-Republic.com or on Instagram at Manana__Republic GET ART IN THE MAIL I started the MAIL.BOX.ART PROJECT as a way to share my passion for art and support independent artists. From time to time, I feature work by an artist that I love. Each piece is meant to be enjoyed, savored, and saved. I hope this inspires you to start or grow your art collection.Do you want to receive beautiful art? Sign up here – SEND ME ART!

MAÑANA REPUBLIC
MAÑANA REPUBLIC I first encountered Manana Republic's art at Market Market in Palm Springs. I was immediately drawn to it by the vibrant colors and tropical vibes. I snapped a photo with the intention of researching the artist and delving deeper into their work. In a serendipitous turn of events, Dero Jensen, the artist behind Manana Republic, lived in Phoenix, so naturally, I had to reach out to find out more.We met over coffee at A Flour Shop and chatted about the inspiration behind his tropical folk art, his restaurant projects, and his hopes for Phoenix, particularly the preservation of affordable creative spaces for young artists to live and create art. This was followed by a tour of his studio in the Garfield Historic District, which was filled with his work, beautifully crafted paper masks, and handmade artisan piñata burros in various colorways, awaiting their debut at Bacanora, as well as his upcoming restaurant project collaboration with Rene Andrade - Huarachis Taqueria, opening later this fall. I chose him to be the featured artist for the latest MAIL.BOX.ART Project because his art offers a lighthearted experience, exuding playful optimism that makes me smile. Explore his current print series, featured in the MAIL.BOX.ART No.14 which were inspired by his childhood dream of becoming a marine biologist, or go bold with one of his original acrylic panel pieces. Enjoy!
