DESERT LIVING
ARTIST - CARLISLE BURCH
Introducing Carlise Burch – the artist behind the “View Of Camelback” collaboration launching on December 7th. "Carlisle Burch’s approach to illustrating intentionally explores the dichotomy that defined much of her childhood. Characters and scenes evolve from the juxtaposition of her Mojave Desert home and a fascination with French post-impressionism as well as fashion illustration of the early 1900’s. Her use of color and line creates a world where leathered cowboys, rattlesnakes, and sandstorms merge with the idealistic and refined. Carlisle’s illustrations are equally light-hearted while transporting us into her world of weathered nostalgia." Launch Event: Cave & Post Trading Co509 W McDowell Rd., Suite 102 Phoenix, AZ 85003December 7th from 5pm-8pm EVENT DETAILS + RSVP

SAUVAGE - A BOTTLE SHOP + WINE BAR
As natural wines are making their way to the top of the casual wine choice list, Sauvage has some of the best on rotation. Housed in the historic Helen Anderson House, this hip bottle shop offers all the comforts of home with its old-house charm, featuring casual armchairs, couches, and dining tables scattered about to encourage the ability to linger and savor each sip. There's always new bottles to explore, and for those who love surprises, there's "The Wine Well," a monthly subscription of bottles they're obsessed with, including some exclusive bottles not available anywhere else in the state. The Architecture: The Helen Anderson House stands as an excellent example of the English Cottage Revival Style, cementing its spot in Phoenix's architectural history since its addition to the National Register of Historic Places. Built circa 1920, it occupies the northeast corner of 3rd Ave & McDowell Rd -amidst several historic Phoenix neighborhoods. With wood shingled rolled eves, and waving butt lines that mimic a thatch roof, it exudes a fairy-tale-like ambiance, which is quite distinctive from the typical architectural landscape of the desert. Cheers to unique finds! 📍 149 W McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85003

SLOW DOWN NOW
SLOW DOWN NOW AT CIVANA If you've ever dreamed of a day or weekend escape to recharge and reset at a wellness resort, CIVANA is the place to be. Located just outside of Scottsdale, this spa resort caters to wellness seekers with a serene setting and a healthy approach to "resorting." With four core pillars – Movement, Spa, Nourishment, and Discovery – CIVANA offers a holistic experience and an opportunity to leave transformed with a new approach to well-being. Pop into one of the many fitness classes offered throughout the day or relax poolside, where all guests must be 14 and up. Even better, book a treatment at the spa, where the main focus is the healing power of water. I tried the Aqua Vitality circuit and a full-body massage – both were heavenly. There are no indulgent temptations here; instead, the Seed Café and Terras Restaurant offer plant-rich cuisine and nourishing smoothies. Explore the resort's desert landscape gardens, enjoy a moment of Zen in the labyrinth, or practice yoga on the lawn – whatever you choose, CIVANA ensures a refreshing and renewing experience.
