MAIL.BOX.ART No.13 – Karina Niño de Rivera
Born in Mexico City, raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, and now in Phoenix, Arizona, Karina Niño de Rivera has always been driven by a proclivity for the unique and imagination-provoking. Working as a graphic designer and professional digital artist she started engaging with the tangible – books, fabrics, magazines, and other physical things to create compositions in which she playfully expresses what she cannot in her day job. It is through Niño de Rivera’s collages that her imagination takes over and creates new work from ordinary objects and the abandoned imagery in old books, magazines, and vintage whatnots. With this vision, she invites the viewer into the new worlds and spaces of her composite creations.
Karina's work can be found on online at LaCollagist.com and on Instagram: @LaCollagist
I started the MAIL.BOX.ART PROJECT as a way to share my passion for art and support independent artists. From time to time, I feature work by an artist that I love. Each piece is meant to be enjoyed, savored, and saved. I hope this inspires you to start or grow your art collection.
