Artist Statement:

I work largely with the figure, yet as of late exploring more abstract methods of representation.  I am drawn I believe we all create a visual history for ourselves by what we look at and live with every day. An original piece of art can enrich this history by enlivening the space around it with color, beauty, and emotion. My women paintings showcase that quiet and powerful moment when a person is connected to their own inner life, engaged with their own thoughts and connected to their sense of self. They are content as they are. There is peace in that contentment. Living with art is as enriching and meaningful as making it. I love when a painting finds a home and becomes part of someone else's visual history.

I started the MAIL.BOX.ART PROJECT as a way to share my passion for art and support independent artists. From time to time, I feature work by an artist that I love. Each piece is meant to be enjoyed, savored, and saved. I hope this inspires you to start or grow your art collection.
