MAIL.BOX.ART No.12
BOX.ART No.12 – AMY MACHALE I met Amy MacHale a few months back and her energy captivated me. She has a great eye for color and is passionate about sharing her process, so needless to say, I was beyond excited when she agreed to collaborate on this special piece with her. ARTIST BIO: Amy uses alcohol inks activated by moonshine, which create an expressionistic style of work. This approach evokes a feeling of movement via the colors in the inks using various tools to manipulate the medium. The essence of her work is largely inspired by her life and her love of traveling. She is an artist for the Hidden Truths Project and is represented in two galleries, in North Carolina at Studio 276 and in California at Troy Wirth Gallery. Amy's work can be found online amymachale.com and IG @amymachale I started the MAIL.BOX.ART PROJECT as a way to share my passion for art and support independent artists. From time to time, I feature work by an artist that I love. Each piece is meant to be enjoyed, savored, and saved. I hope this inspires you to start or grow your art collection. MAIL.BOX.ART No.11 – CARLISLE BURCH When Carlisle Burch agreed to be the featured artist for the Mail.Box.Art Cards series, I was thrilled as I love her work! She has a vintage editorial feel to her illustrations inspired by the South West and the Mohave desert - all with a touch of East Coast cool. View her work on her website at Carlise.Burch or on Instagram: Carlisle.Burch ARTIST BIO: "Carlisle Burch’s approach to illustrating intentionally explores the dichotomy that defined much of her childhood. Characters and scenes evolve from the juxtaposition of her Mojave Desert home and a fascination with French post-impressionism as well as fashion illustration of the early 1900’s. Her use of color and line creates a world where leathered cowboys, rattlesnakes, and sandstorms merge with the idealistic and refined. Carlisle’s illustrations are equally light-hearted while transporting us into her world of weathered nostalgia." I started the MAIL.BOX.ART PROJECT as a way to share my passion for art and support independent artists. From time to time, I feature work by an artist that I love. Each piece is meant to be enjoyed, savored, and saved. I hope this inspires you to start or grow your art collection. Do you want to receive beautiful art? Sign up here

MAIL.BOX.ART No.9 – APRIL HOWLAND April Howland is an artist and gallery owner living in Phoenix, Arizona. She draws inspiration from wildlife and is a passionate adventurer with a deep love for travel and nature. Her work can be found online at: @howland_studios or a visit to her studio located in the HIVE On 16th in Coronado, Phoenix AZ. ARTIST STATEMENT There is nothing in nature as inspiring to a wildlife artist as the opportunity to personally interact with wildlife in their natural habitat. Near 100% of my works come from personal experiences. Pursuit of muse and adventure has taken me across the United States and the world with wildlife experiences from Africa to Alaska and each spectacular in their own ways. Despite the beauty and wonder of these experiences, that is only the first step in the artistic process. The true artistic joy comes from the process of turning hundreds of photos, sketches, journal entries and emotional memories into a series of paintings. My deepest hope is that my images beautifully reflect the profoundness of emotion between both me and my subjects.. but more than that I hope they allow the viewer to glimpse the wild within.
